City in the Cell

City in the Cell is the first phase of World in a Cell, a collaboration between USC Cinema School's Worldbuilding Media Lab and the USC Bridge Institute - part of the Michelson Center for Convergent Biosciences. This phase of World in a Cell was intended to forge a productive collaboration between artists, designers, and scientists, and to explore mutually beneficial insights that might emerge from the fields of structural biology and urban design. For the scientists involved, the goal is to aid in the production of knowledge around the pancreatic beta cell — the cell that produces insulin — and to eventually identify drug targets and a potential cure for diabetes.

My roles in this phase of the collaboration were those of design research lead and lead sound designer.
