Auggie
Auggie is an experiment in augmented audio in which the natural sound of the immediate environment is mixed with procedural audio driven by data collected from an array of ultrasonic sensors arranged around the perimeter of the user's head.
Auggie makes use of two prosthetic ears, modeled on the ears of a cat, to investigate and signify possible hybrid modes of auditory perception. Auggie's data-driven procedural audio is intended to spatialize and narrativize the proximity of objects in the physical space of the user. Headphones are recommended when watching the video.
