IonViz

IonViz was developed as a premilary project to a more robust 3D visualization tool during a data visualization course at USC School of Cinematic Arts. It consists of a Python script that reformats .ionex files that are accessible through NASA's Reverb | ECHO portal, and a Processing sketch that visualizes the output as an animated heatmap. The .ionex data files record total electron content (TEC) at a fixed height of the upper atmosphere over varying periods of time.

All the files for this project are collected in a github repository and can be downloaded here.
